  Today we reviewed genitive singular, used with quantity (e.g., kawałek sera), and then began learning genitive plural. Very complicated, but mostly understandable from Magdalena's explanations. I experienced two significant problems today, that affected my learning; I would like to summarize below.
  
  First, the introduction of using genitive case with quantity was made more difficult by all of the new vocabulary (słoik, kawałek, puszka, etc.) in the exercises. It would have helped me a lot if we had a quick *presentation* of the new nouns at the beginning of the lesson, or perhaps by instructing us students to "preview" the new words before class.
  
  Next, the last exercise (202B1?) was also disastrous for me, and left me more *more confused* afterwards than before attempting it. I believe there were a few reasons for this:
  (a) the written instructions ("only one of the 3 solutions is correct") did not match Magdalena's explanation (and turned out to be wrong).
  (b) I wasn't sure whether to use the genitive case with only *some* verbs given, as not all verbs were in the group of verbs introduced immediately before the exercise (e.g., bać się).
  (c) there were many new vocabulary words in the sentences, so the meaning of the sentences was unclear.
  
  If that wasn't enough, I didn't understand what the exercise was actually testing.
  - Was the exercise asking only for *genitive* case endings (e.g., parku and not park)?
  - Was it asking for the *correct* genitive case endings (e.g., parku and not parka)?
  - Was it asking for the genitive *singular* or *plural* (e.g., parku and not parków)?
  - Or were ALL options correct, and we had to select the correct options by context (e.g., słuchać muzyki, i nie słuchać parku)?
  
  I believe better written instructions and explanation of the purpose of the exercise could have greatly helped me. _/|_

  Today was a big day for grammar, but Magdalena taught slowly and carefully, so it was not overwhelming. First we reviewed regular past from the last class, then learned the irregular past of jeść. After that, Magdalena presented past tense of iść / pojść.
  
  With "pojść", we were also introduced to the perfect / imperfect verb distinction. Magdalena presented the difference very clearly, so I was able to follow without any problems.

  Zjadłem obiad, zwykle kanapkę.
  Pracowałem do 16:00 i jechałem do domu w ruchliwym korku.
  Zabrałem naszego psa Milly do parku.
  Zjadłem obiad z żoną i synem.
  Oglądaliśmy telewizję, zwykle komedię romantyczną lub przygodę i piliśmy wina
  Na ostatni spacer wybrałem się z psem.
  Poszliśmy spać około 10:30.
