I am an English language tutor, and my new professional passion is teaching Polish as a foreign and second language. I am particularly interested in working with children and teenagers from bilingual families, as well as with people of Polish heritage.

I lived in the United Kingdom for many years. My children were born there and are now teenagers. From the very beginning, it was important to me that they grew up in contact with the Polish language and culture. I spoke Polish to them, taught them how to read, helped them develop correct pronunciation and taught them Polish grammar, while also making sure that their English developed to a very high level.

They developed their English naturally at a British school. Today, I am proud to say that they are bilingual.

My own experience of raising children bilingually is what inspired me to help other children and teenagers develop their Polish language skills.

During my lessons, English can be used when it is really necessary. However, from the very beginning, I focus mainly on communicating in Polish and gradually immersing the student in the language.

I hold a Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE) certificate, confirming my English proficiency at C1 level.

I am currently studying Applied Linguistics with a Teaching module at the Higher School of Linguistics in Częstochowa, Poland. As part of my studies, I am taking courses in language teaching methodology, including glottodidactics, where I am learning effective methods of teaching foreign languages and supporting the development of language skills.

I have experience teaching English in language schools, both individually and in groups. I have worked with children, teenagers and adults.

Teaching Polish as a foreign language is a new professional direction for me and one that I am very passionate about. I combine my knowledge of Polish as a native speaker with my experience in teaching a foreign language and my own experience of raising children in a bilingual environment.

I want my students to have the opportunity to use Polish in practical situations from the very beginning. I explain grammar and language rules calmly and step by step, adapting the pace and level of difficulty to each student.

When working with children and teenagers, I also want lessons to be enjoyable and adapted to their age, interests and current level of Polish.

I particularly welcome parents of children aged 10 and above but I would be more than happy to teach anyone who is interested in Polish.
