Journey to Poland
Journey to Poland
In a few weeks I'm gonna make my first journey to Poland. I'm already learning some Polish, and by the same token I wanted to visit that country. From some of my Polish friends I've heard about few traditional Polish dishes. I'd love to try something that is really Polish, not only reffered to be so, as it often happens in Hamburg, where I live. Please tell me what is worth to try.
Btw. Does the dish named "flaki" is really awful?? The name suggest so :)
Hi Nienne, the dish I would recommend is called PIEROGI RUSKIE (it's typically Polish, although the name doesn't suggest it;) and it is absolutely delicious!
The dish named "flaki" really is awful :/, but I know some people that love it, so probably it depends on personal preferences... Do you know already to in which city/town you're going to spend your time in Poland?
I already know that I'll be living by a family in Cracow. I've haerd that it"s very beautiful city. I can't wait to see it. I've tried pierogi ruskie before in Hamburg and I liked it very much. I wanna try them in Poland, they must be much better :)
In Cracow you will also find “obwarzanki” or “precle” it is very special for this city. In Zakopane you
must try a sheep cheese called “oscypki” and I agree that “pierogi” is number one (for me at least…)
What I can recommend is a small fast-food bar in Plac Nowy in Kazimierz district (Krakow). You can eat the best "zapiekanki" in the world! I think "zapiekanka" can be already perceived as a traditional Krakow food :-) it's very popular, especially in the middle of the night when you've just finished partying :-) The best bar with "zapiekanki" is Endzior in Plac Nowy. There are usually long queues, but it's worth waiting!
"Zapiekanki" near Endzior are very good too, so if there is a long queue to this specific bar, don't hesitate to go to the neighbours:)
Sounds like potatoes cheese onions tomatoes and other veg all cooked in one dish and yes it is delious
Or just plain good
