About me:

I have been teaching Polish for over 20 years.
I am married and we have got two children. For family reasons, I often change my country of
residence, which gives me the opportunity to meet many different people from different
cultures. I always love learning and I love helping others learn.
Nature, hiking (long backpacking trips, the Camino de Santiago trail) and icon painting are
my passions. I have a contemplative nature.
I think that striving for development while forging human ties at the same time is the most
interesting activity in the world.

Qualifications and experience:

I am a teacher and philologist by training. I not only have professional skills, but also extensive experience. I taught Polish to children and young people whose mothers/grandmothers wished to preserve their mother tongue, as well as to foreigners (including students, ambassadors) going to Poland. I worked in a Polish school, in class but also privately, giving lessons in groups or individually. I taught Polish at the Institute of Religious Sciences in Kyiv and at the Higher Seminary in Vorzel.
I started my first teaching practice in 1991. I have a master's degree in Russian language and literature and a postgraduate degree in Polish philology from the Literary Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. I also completed three-year doctoral studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences.
I attended many training courses, including a course for candidates for Polish language teachers for university centers at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
I am fully certified teacher of the Polish language.
I am eager to undertake translations from Russian or from Polish, and also from French.
I have a Diplôme de Hautes Etudes Françaises (DALF) and a First Certificate in English (ESOL) from the University of Cambridge.

Methods of teaching

I am happy to adapt to the needs of the student, depending on their learning objective.
I enjoy working with recordings, phonetics, vocabulary games and scenarios. I also rely on written texts.
Recently, I have been training in the Montessori method, in storytelling and in drama method.

Próbowałem uczyć się kilku języków online, ale szybko się zniechęcałem, bo albo kurs był za bardzo komunikacyjny, albo też za bardzo ‘tradycyjny’. Polskiego nie miałem możliwości uczyć się inaczej jak tylko online, więc bez przekonania, ale zarejestrowałem się na kurs na e-polish.eu. Ku mojemu zdziwieniu, tutaj po raz pierwszy spotykam się z kursem, gdzie metodzie komunikacyjnej towarzyszy rzetelny komentarz gramatyczny. Na początku kursu sięgałem do niego dość często, teraz przekonałem się że materiał jest tak fantastycznie przygotowany, iż jest to zbędne. Faktycznie uczę się teraz czysto komunikacyjnie!
