COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Participants will gain an understanding of how to combine language and subject teaching within a workable lesson framework and also explore a wide variety of practical tasks and activities that can be put to immediate use in the classroom. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience CLIL for themselves through the use of CEC’s ELearning platform which gives training in web skills through the use of English, neatly combining subject and language acquisition.
TARGET GROUPS:
- Teacher in primary or secondary school who need to teach a school subject through English.
- Teachers who would like to improve their English language skills.
- Teachers who would like to understand the principles behind planning a CLIL lesson and how to combine language and subject teaching.
- Teachers who are interested in analysing and adapting materials and approaches for use in the CLIL classroom.
AIMS OF THE COURSE:
A course for English language teachers aimed at providing practical training in the most up to date teaching techniques and improving participants language skills.

1) Monday
- Introduction to the course - warmers and icebreakers effective ways of starting lessons
- Reading – exploiting texts for CLIL
- E-Learning Platform Workshop
2) Tuesday
- CLIL 1: principles behind CLIL approaching and planning a CLIL lesson
- Phonology: integrating pronunciation into lessons
- Contextualisation of the learning experience
3) Wednesday
- Language Clinic – model CLIL lesson
- Speaking skills and interaction strategies
- Visit to Nano Nagle Place
4) Thursday
- Lexis 1: presenting new words
- Technology in the CLIL classroom: setting up and using webquests
- Micro-Teaching practice + feedback
5) Friday
- LLanguage Clinic 2 – model CLIL lesson
- CLIL 2: approaches to planning topic based lessons
- Site visit and lecture to University College Cork

The programme includes:
- 25 hours of tuition per week
- Use of all pedagogical material

IMPORTANT! - It's possible to book this course as a 6 day course (price - 520 EUR/week). The course then includes 1 full-day excursion on Saturday.

London (Wielka Brytania)Gratuluję – świetnie zrealizowanego portalu! Bardzo podoba mi się sposób wprowadzania materiału i to wyłącznie przy użyciu języka polskiego. Na początku myślałam, że bez użycia angielskiego niczego się nie nauczę, ale to faktycznie działa! Oczywiście korzystam z komentarzy gramatycznych po angielsku, ale to raczej dla upewnienia się, czy wszystko dobrze rozumiem. Dialogów, nagrań oraz ćwiczeń opcjonalnych jest tak dużo, iż nie sposób czegoś nie zrozumieć.
