Introduction to CLIL for Primary and secondary school teachers – CL-CLI
CLIC Centro de Lenguas e Intercambio Cultural

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course is designed to give Primary and Secondary school subject teachers, linguistic and practical support in the CLIL classroom. Using loop input, we will examine a range of methods and approaches to help teachers plan diverse and dynamic classes which cater for their students' needs, regardless of the age, level or subject matter involved. A communicative approach to teaching is used, with instruction in the L1, and a learner centred approach taken, putting the teacher in their students’ shoes. Each morning will be divided between input, practice, and presentation, assessment and reflection.

The course will include practical workshops which allow the teachers to experiment with the area of input according to their own teaching context, both in terms of the subject matter or the age group they work with. The participants will build up their own electronic portfolio of course content, which will also be used for assessment and reflection purposes, and will give them a very useful tool which can be adapted for the preparation of materials for their own classes
