COURSE SUMMARY:
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace. Over five days, participants will explore key concepts, understand the impact of bias and stereotypes, learn strategies to promote inclusion, and develop skills to address discrimination. The course is designed for non-native English speakers, integrating language learning with content knowledge to enhance both EDI understanding and English proficiency.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Participants attending this course must have a minimum English level of B1 (Pre-Intermediate or higher).
SAMPLE PROGRAMME:
1) Monday - Introduction to EDI
- Content Objectives: Understand the basic concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion; Recognize the importance of EDI in the workplace.
- Language Objectives: Learn and use vocabulary related to EDI (e.g., equity, diversity, inclusion, bias); Practice simple present tense to describe EDI principles.
2) Tuesday - Understanding Bias and Stereotypes
- Content Objectives: Explore the concepts of bias and stereotypes; Understand how bias and stereotypes affect workplace dynamics.
- Language Objectives: Use comparative and superlative forms to discuss different types of bias; Practice listening skills through video content; Simulate a scenario where bias affects workplace interactions
3) Wednesday - Promoting Inclusion
- Content Objectives: Learn strategies to promote inclusion in the workplace; Understand the role of inclusive language.
- Language Objectives: Practice using the past simple tense to describe past inclusive actions; Enhance reading skills with texts on inclusive practices.
4) Thursday - Addressing Discrimination
- Content Objectives: Discuss different forms of discrimination; Learn how to address and prevent discrimination in the workplace.
- Language Objectives: Use modal verbs to discuss possibilities and obligations; Develop speaking skills through problemsolving activities.
5) Friday - EDI in Practice and Course Review
- Content Objectives: Apply EDI skills in practical situations; Review key concepts learned during the course.
- Language Objectives: Use future tense to discuss plans for improving EDI; Practice summarizing information.

Polskiego nie miałem możliwości uczyć się inaczej jak tylko online, więc bez przekonania, ale zarejestrowałem się na kurs na e-polish.eu. Ku mojemu zdziwieniu, tutaj po raz pierwszy spotykam się z kursem, gdzie metodzie komunikacyjnej towarzyszy rzetelny komentarz gramatyczny. Na początku kursu sięgałem do niego dość często, teraz przekonałem się że materiał jest tak fantastycznie przygotowany, iż jest to zbędne. Faktycznie uczę się teraz czysto komunikacyjnie!
