COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The challenges of today´s school are increasingly demanding for nowadays teachers. Schools compete on several levels with the internet, digital apps and other sharing systems of communication and knowledge. Students of today are part of a digital generation very different from their teachers, and because of that, they learn everything in a distinct way. This course aims to update teachers in order to overcome this challenge and place students in the center of learning by doing what they know best: using digital apps.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
This course is designed for a wide range of educational professionals including teachers, trainers, educational and career counsellors, school psychologists, headmasters, school administrators, and staff across primary, lower-secondary, secondary schools and higher education. It also caters to professionals in training centers, adult education schools, higher education institutions, and NGOs.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Please note that the course may have participants from various school levels and English proficiency, typically between B1-C2.
- Equipment Required: Laptop.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
During this course, we’ll use teachers’ and students’ daily life situations while using educational apps to transfer knowledge. Our methodology is learning by discovery to promote motivation and creativity for educational subjects. These apps can be used in every school activity: school trips, museums, students’ everyday life and so on. By leveraging these digital tools, teachers can better motivate students in their subjects.

COURSE GOALS:
- Use online tools to support and improve innovative teaching and learning methods, in order to motivate and encourage students;
- Use mobile devices as an important tool for teaching and learning activities;
- Explore the best of educational apps, not only in the classroom but also in every school activity;
- Explore active methodologies within and during the classroom;
- Experiment educational apps to improve teaching and learning activities;
- Improve ICT skills;
- Create/continue to implement an action plan to make schools and communities more sustainable;
- Apply and/or adapt different concepts, ideas, and teaching methodologies to the ones practised in participants’ home country;
- Facilitate experience and cultural exchanges between European participants and Portuguese teaching personnel, which results in a fruitful international experience;
- Enhance communicative competencies in English and social skills;
- Promote intercultural awareness;
- Learn more about Portugal’s and Porto’s culture, heritage and society;
- Identify and share good practices that can be implemented at a local level.

- Video’s potential (Smartphone and/or Tablet)

OPTIONAL (with additional fees):
1) Possibility to book a 6-day course (fee: 580 EUR for 6-day course). Additional day - Sunday before the course start. The evening meeting (starting at 18:30), witch includes:
- Welcome Session: dinner, icebreaking
- Meet and greet, networking – participants and staff
- Week briefing and planning
2) Additional social activities - information provided during the course.
