January and February in Poland - The Polish Carnival
mluksza 2014-01-20 13:16 | January and February in Poland - The Polish Carnival First of all - ostatki! We are celebrating the Carnival time with the music and dancing. Let's say - a huge party :) The "kulig tradition" were organized from 17th to early 20th centuries in Poland - if you would like to know something more, check that link: http://www.lsa.umich.edu/slavic/dept/WebBasedLanguage/Polish/Culture/Carnival.htm If the weather be generous next days, you will have a chance to take part in kulig with Glossa. Keep your fingers crossed! How about "Tłusty Czwartek" - have you known such tradition? |
amorawska 2014-01-20 13:50 | I eat "pączki" (Polish donuts) only once a year - always during "Tłusty Czwartek". This year it will be on 27.02, am I right? It is always the last Thursday before the end of Carnival. About the "kulig", to be honest I have never participated in ;) |
