About me:

I’m optimistic. I like to be surrounded by people who emit positive energy and at the same time I try to share my joy with them. What I appreciate most in being a teacher is the contact with other people. I adore travelling and discovering new places, sometimes with a guidebook in hand or more often by absorbing their special atmosphere with all my senses. I’m passionate about theatre, I collect masks, I love South-American literature, small cinemas, bicycle and mountain trips, picnics behind the walls of old castles and long sessions of charades or board games with my friends. I get lots of joy and satisfaction when playing with children.

Qualifications and experience:

• Graduate of Polish Philology (Jagiellonian University, specialization: theater studies) and Teaching Polish Culture and Polish as a Foreign Language (University of Silesia, postgraduate studies).
• Since 2007, I have been teaching foreigners at SJO Glossa and the Cracow University of Economics, both in-person and online.
• Author of the textbook "Phonetics – Polish in Practice".
• Co-author of teacher's manuals for the "POLSKI krok po kroku" series and numerous exercises and materials on e-polish.eu.
• I conduct methodological trainings and webinars for teachers both domestically and abroad.

Methods of teaching

• During lessons, I focus on communication. I speak English, some French, and Russian, but during classes— to immerse students in Polish as effectively as possible— I use only gestures and facial expressions as an auxiliary language. By incorporating various games, arranging authentic situations, and using interactive activities, I motivate my students to speak Polish, even with a very limited vocabulary. I strive to make them feel as if they were in a real Polish restaurant, store, or post office.
• I understand the importance of constantly expanding and reinforcing vocabulary, which is why I always include review sessions and prepare personalized exercises tailored to the real needs of my students.
• Correct pronunciation is essential for effective communication, so I regularly incorporate phonetic exercises into my lessons. I use my own method to eliminate native language interference in Polish pronunciation.
• Above all, I am highly attuned to my students' individual needs and gladly adapt both my materials and teaching approach to their interests and expectations.
